Bala's trying to breed?

I have a pair of maybe 3" balas in my 90 long, along with my loaches and a few small community fishies. I've noticed that when I crush the mts's for the loaches and bala's to feast upon, (the bala's love them too), they start a mating looking dance thing. I'm sure they are juveniles still, since they grow very large, and I thought they didn't breed in captivity. Any ideas what this could signify? Anyone else ever see this? They race around the tank shimmied up to each other, then try to breed, I think. They are not chasing each other. TIA, Farmgirl.

They do breed in large pools. I am sure they need to be much bigger. They are active fish and are probably just playing.
