For the bettas you sell directly to your LFS is it a chain like petsmart or petco or just a little shop. Did you ever try selling to a store chain.

At the time the only chain store in the Orlando area that I could sell to was pet supermarket. In the interim years my research found that it would be difficult to sell to Petsmart or Petco. In recent years having developed relationships with managers from stores in both of these chains I found that it would not be impossible to sell to them.
Here is a page from a website that I had years ago, I have since deleted this webisite but a reader saved several of the pages and reformatted them, they look a little different but the content is the same. Pay attention to the guppy pages, it offers a little insight to sales techniques, I hope it helps. Breeding and Selling Bill

I never saw it that way, "Reduce Americas Dependence on Foreign Fish NOW!!!!!!" lol It sounds kind of funny especialy when were talking about a Hobby.
But sadly enough its true, and its scarry, Im not just talking about Fish here, every day its becoming harder to find Amerian goods on the market. That coupled with our ever decreasing education standards and pretty soon we will find ourselves living in the worlds leading 3rd world nation. Poor, uneducated, and totaly dependent on foreign imports. |

It could sound funny, lol. But seriously, the amount of money that was tossed around in our economy from our little fishy friends was staggering at one point. There was an international dependance on Florida bred fish for decades. It was a huge industry.
I try to reach out to new serious hobbyists, it is still a huge hobby and for those who are interested in creating an income the possibilities really are endless. I get sad when I read writers in the hobbyist magazines put down that no one can make real money selling fish. That is bunk of course. If nothing else, websites like aquabid make what used to be unavailable fish more available to serious hobbyists. Nothing against Mark there, he is a good guy, but even aquabid is dominated by far eastern sellers, and boy, do I feel good about that, seeing our American dollars sent there. LOL. Bill
