Betta runt fry

So as I was expecting from breeding runts there is a fry with a small red thing growing off it's dorsal fin. It's not poo but I'm kind of thinking it could be a baby ramshorn snail.

And also if I get a male and a female from this batch of fry and bred them, would they still be considered runts and would I have a larger amount?
