So I got some new bettas for valentines day (lovely boyfriend got me them lol) and I put one of the males in the breeding tank while one of my old females was in a seporated container.
They're both in the same tank now but whenever she decides to go to the nest he runs away :S lol

Hmmmmm. I've kept bettas before, and it sounds like he's not ready to breed. he could be too youg, or just not conditioned enough. you just got him the other day right? give him about 2 weeks to a month of good feeding and clean water, and in no time, he'll be ready to breed! Also make sure you don't have too much flow in the tank, it will stress him, and the flow might destroy the delicate bubble nest he makes.

Keep them separated until they are ready to spawn. I agree that they are probably too young.

What tanks do they live in when they are not in the breeding tank?
