I am wondering if there are any suggestions on a tank setup that would allow my guppies to breed and the fry servive without my involvment.

Plants .. decor like rocks on top of each other so there are tiny holes in which the fry can hid ein 8)

Exactly. Java moss is an ideal medium for newly born live bearer fry to escape into. It also grows like a weed and in no time your tank should be blanketed in it.

Lots and lots of plants. Also if you get larger gravel then the fry can swim in between the rocks for safety. :D

and they can be fake plants too, and I would suggest silk ones over plastic, since fancy guppy tails can be easily damaged by hard plastic plant tips and the thin, knife like branches.
