Breeding net

Since i don't have another tank,and theres no chance of getting another before my swordtail drops some chillins, o.o; I put her in a breeding net that taked up 1/3 or so of my tank. Question. Will she get lonely in the tank all alone? I'm not sure how much longer it will be before she has them. I would put the male in there but number one he constantly harrasses her now, plus hed eat the fry before she got em out o.o;;

ok first swordtails drop fry about once a month. i wouldnt worry about her getting to lonely but watch her close because she might eat her babies if u dont get to them first. so if u can put a piece of a fake plant that a baby could hide in just in case mom gets hungry before u know u got babies

Is this the first time she has been pregnant? If not, try to remember how "fat" she looked last time right before she had the babies, and then don't put her into the breeder net until she looks almost as fat.

Also, many livebearers develop a "gravid spot" (a black or darkened spot on their abdomen) when they are getting close to dropping their babies. Often when you see that spot develop, it is time to put the mom in the breeder net.

I dont think shes been pregnant before. Shes gotten alot bigger since i last got her but shes been big like this for a week or two.. X.x; her tummy is getting darker. Would that be a gravid spot? She usually a bright orange but her tummy turned kinda dark reddish. X.x i need a camara heh.
