Breeding pearl gouramis help
Well I've got a male and a female in a small(ish) tank, with around 6 inches of water (deep). A large plant (that's got lots of little floaty things covers around 1/4 - 1/2 of tank) and a log, which kinda floats.
Anyways, the temperature is around 82F and I've got a little tube putting oxygen into the waters. My question is, they're both just sat (yeh) at the bottom of the tank, not moving or swimming. No they aint dead because they are upright and I had to test so I put my hand in, and they moved a little. Although they are acting very dosile, like when I go close to glass, even tap it gently they don't move at all. It's just worrying me that they aren't moving... What should I do? - or is it normal? Thanks Matt |

Had they previously started to build a bubble nest? If not, it could be some time before they mate, if they do. You didn't say how small the tank is and why you have it only partially full. If you have just moved them into the tank, they may just need a few days to aclimate. I would fill the tank and give them some time. They are not always successful the first time.
