breeding swordtails

WE have a male/female pair of swordtails, and my wife would like to try to breed them. Are swordtails essentially platies with long tails, or are the entirely different?

Where can I look for breeding advice on them?

Thank you in advance

Bear

They are similar to platies in the sense that all livebearer's breed rather easily. All you need is a male and a female. It is recommended to have at least 2 females to one male so the females don't get stressed by the males being amorous.

As far as researching breeding for them goes http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=...ordtails&meta=

It's been my experience that they breed VERY easily. lol. You should not have any problems at all.

Best of luck.
