breeding tank divider?

I am making plans for getting up to two 15 or 20 gallon tanks for use as hospital, breeding and quarrantine tanks. I was thinking of allowing a Platy to birth in one. It would seem that the size of the tank, with an airdriven corner or sponge filter, and lack of gravel would make the tank suitable for any of these functions. I was looking for a removable tank divider that would allow fry to swim to one side, and keep the mother on the other. I just can't tell if the commercial dividers would be good at this. It sure seems that the holes in the divider are a bit too small. Anyone used one for this purpose?

no .. the commercial dividers have holes that are too small. the only way that this could be effective is if you pre-drilled holes in it that were larger then the fry but smaller then the mother (not a hard thing to do.

I was hoping to avoid the hole enlargement process. Ah well. Guess the rotary tool has its uses...
