Hi, I have a 45 g freshwater tank and I was wondering if it's safe to clean the outside with windex?

Hi not used it myself so cannot comment on it. I usually just use fish tank water:eek: also I know allot of fish keepers use white vinegar to remove water stains,a very good idea before photographing your fish:fish2:

Hi i haven't actually used white vinegar either,so do not actually know:oops:
I just use a damp* cloth then simply polish the glass with a soft cloth.
* I make the cloth damp with fish tank water as obviously this is safe for the fish:fish2:
I would also guess the white vinegar would evaporate and then not smell??

For the outside of my tanks I just use a clean damp cloth & then dry if need be with a clean cloth. The outside of the tank is typically more dusty than dirty so a clean cloth usually works fine. For my glass tank top I have used white vinegar by putting it on the paper towel then wiping the glass, smells initially but then goes away.
