I currently have 6 Male Congo Tetra in a 46g Bowfront. I just bought a 55g tank and I'm going to make it a species tank for my Congo's. I'm interested in getting more and especially some females to try to breed these awesome fish. I don't understand why they are not very popular in the hobby but I love them. I can't seem to find much information on Breeding Congo Tetra. If anyone has any experience with them please let me know. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. I need to know things like male to female ratio, ideal water parameters, or anything about this specific species that will help me with my new tank and hopefully allow me to be able to successfully breed them.

I think they're egg-scatterers, like most tetras, so you'd want to provide some fine-leaved plants or a spawning mop for them to use. I think also that the adults will prey on the fry. Just guesses on my part, as I've never kept Congos. Good luck!
