I've had 2 Endler colonies for a while. A mix of wild types I've accumulated from 3 sources, and tiger Endlers from 1 source.
In both colonies, I experience very high male mortality after they reach adulthood. They seem to do their business for 2 weeks and then waste away. Females in all colonies outlive them every time.
What are the reasons for this? I suspect inbreeding or the males are not getting enough to eat considering they have other things on their mind and my females are PIGS.
And on another note, I just saw my harlequin rasboras spawning in some java moss. They gobbled up the eggs as they dropped through the water. Silly things.
