mr funktastic has fishy dreams
finally success!!

i have been trying since the day that i started buying fish to have a successful batch of fry. my fist fish i got were mollies and i was told that 1 was male and 1 was female but that turned out to be false. i then purchased a few platies and i got a pair. she had babies 3 times and all 3 times i didnt manage to get her in the breeding tank before she popped. i failed as a father and my angel and shark had a very big snack. but i finally bought a pair of guppies both of which i thought were male because they both had alot of colour but i noticed a black spot on the back of my blue guppy and i watch vividly for nearly 3 weeks until i noticed her swimming up and down repeatedly under the filter water drop off and i put her in the breeding tank not even 2 hours later i cam back into the room and i got a nice healthy batch of fry. there are about 20 or more fry and not a single one died. i am interested in hearing about anyone elses birthing stories and tips so i can help my future pregnancies go well
looking foreward to your responses

Congratulations. I would just say keep doing what you are doing. Feed the babies with quality food. I normally use crushed up flakes. Keep us updated.

i am feeding them fry food at the moment and every once in a while i put in some freeze dried blood worms. once they get a little bigger i will give them frozen blood worms. i have another question tho, how big do they need to be before they go back into my community tank? i have an angel that is a bit bigger than a quarter so i need a rough length estimate? any ideas would be great.

bigger than the angels mouth. And don't be fooled! Those guys can open their mouths much larger than you'd expect!
