Glo-light Tetra Fry?
Total newbie here! Hi!
I was given a 50 gallon aquarium a few weeks ago. I set it up in the dining room, cleaned it, filled it, and did a fishless cycle. Friday night I brought home our first fish. Saturday morning, I noticed the glo-light tetras were spawning! They must've liked the water. As soon as the eggs would fly, all the other fishes (and mom and dad fish too) would swarm the area and eat the eggs. I thought they got them all. Apparently not. Now I have 13 tiny fry in a breeding net. I suppose it's possible they are mollies, but none of the mollies seem thinner than they were before, and the only one that I know is pregnant I just got today. So they're probably the tetras, right?

Most likely mollies, actually, but there is a small possibility that they are tetra fry....can you manage some photos?

No film, sadly. I used up all the film Sunday afternoon. Bad timing, I guess.
You know, I just now went to measure them, and they seem to be about 1/4 inch. That's about right for mollies, and too big to be tetras, really. So you're right, they are probably mollies. Hmmm... They just seemed so very tiny before I actually tried to measure them. |
