In short yes the mom will eat their own young. I have nothing but guppies right now and i have seen it happens.

The mother will eat the young if they can if you provide enough hiding spots such as plants real or fake it will help the fry hide from adults that might eat them. Its very possible that they are in the tank hiding. What do you have in the tank decor wise?

Java moss
4 leaves of java fern
And a whole bunch of floating leaves
