Hi, I am a new guppy breeder and one of my guppies is pregnant. She is really big, has a gravid spot, spitting her food out and hiding in the plant alot. Is there any other signs I could look for and about when will she give birth?

Almost all fish spit their food out and then eat it again because they can't really chew. The easiest way to tell is to look at the tail end of her belly (usually called a gravid spot). When she is ready to give birth, her spot will be more square than round.

i agree with maxwellag, when she is square she will give birth in 1 or 2 days. do you know how old she is? also when did you get her? any tank mates/ have you seen any fish harassing her? jmo but from the picture she doesn't look square at all, but you never know, so a side pic is helpful.

Okay, I will post a side picture as soon as I can, thanks for the tips!
