I have been breeding guppies for fun and selling the extras to my local fish shop. I have two tanks, one 40 litre and the other 20 litre. The adults are living in the larger tank while the fry are raised in the 20 litre. When the fry are large enough I will move them to the 40 litre. I can easily imagine the 20 litre will quickly become overstocked with fry, which will leave me to move the largest fry into the other tank, which has plenty of hiding spots. This than leads to the 40 litre tank becoming full of guppies before the younger guppies reach sellable size.
I want to know just how many guppies i can keep in the 40 litre tank (some adult breeders and some large fry) if I am regularly rotating and selling guppies, before it becomes just too many for the tank at one time?
