Guppy breeding

Hi,

I was wondering when this guppy would give birth. I have never breed guppies before so any tips would be great. Thanks in advance.

Generally, they will get much fatter than you might think is possible before they pop some babies.

They have what is called a 'gravid spot'. a dark spot around the vent area, and when the babies are nearly ready to come you might be able to see eyes in the gravid spot. The body will also get a bit of a 'squared off ' appearance near to birthing.

Fishfur is right but sometimes females do pop those fry earlier even when she doesn't have a squared off appearance. But my remark has mostly to do with rapid changes of water parameters that a female will give birth sooner...
