Hi I was wondering if 5 guppy fry ranging from 1-1.5 cm could resist an aqua clear 50 filter in a 40 gallon aquarium with 1 otocinclus ( not those that eat the slime coat ) 1 rainbow shark, 4 glo tetras , 1 tetra about 1 inch btw it is 40 gallon breeder

If i have the filter sock would it work

It would work, but your tetras are much faster fishes than guppies., and might not stand a chance if there are no hiding spots. Use Java moss..

I've never experienced rainbow sharks, but the glowlight tetras (assuming your meant glowlight tetras when you said glo...) have mouths pretty big for their size. They can catch my red cherry shrimps easily, should be no exception for a small guppy fry.

I tried feeding this glow light tetras brine shrimp and they only go for flakes

Aren't interested at all for live food and they are 6+ yrs old

Anyways, about 1cm big, my guppy fry started to come out of the Java moss in my live bearer tank, and they haven't gone missing yet. At least, those that survived after birth.
