Hello all,

Last Friday I got 4 java ferns for my 20gallon tank, and today as I'm getting ready to do a PWC, I notice that two of my unknown barbs (could be cherry, could be gold) where "playing in the leaves". I was very suprised to see this since I was under the impression that they were still very young, but who knows. I was also surprise because these java ferns are quite small, and the tank is pretty bare.

I didn't see any eggs being laid, but did see all the other barbs nipping at the ferns. I'm thinking anything that is being laid is immediately being eaten by the other ones. Oh well, extra free food source!

yep barbs willeat their own eggs and thats why its imporant to remove them as soon as possible, Also barbs like to hide behind plants, so feeling more secure may have indused some loving behavior
