Male dwarf gourami destroyed nest after mating - Aquarium Advice

Any reason he would do this?

I have a blue dwarf and a female dwarf. They mated all day yesterday. I removed the female in the evening and woke up this morning to find the male had destroyed the nest.

any thoughts on this?

Inexperince?
Is this his first time?

Precived problem with the young?
Many wild animals will destroy thier own young if they are seen as defective.

i think it is his first time, lol. he doesn't "do it" very well, and misses the female a lot and just ends up wrapping himself up like a taco.

Give him a few more tries before you worry about him too much.
