Ok so i have a pair or silver mollies. They have had babies before and one survived ( I dont take them out i leave them in the tank and the ones that get eaten get eaten) He's white/silverish like the parents. Now they just had there second batch of fry and i now there's 3 decent sized fry in there. But one is weird instead of being whiteish he is grey...is that normal? He is eating fine and looks healthy but he is greyish which i think is weird since the parents are silver mollies.

There are two possibilities:

1. He's too young to fully develop his colors like his parents.

2. Some color genes are recessive - which means if either of the parents aren't "true blood" silver mollies - there's a chance that those recessive colors can come out in some of their fry.

Ok thanks... Was wondering since the only other fish that would look like the baby silver mollies would be the balloon mollies i have in there but they are both yellow...could that be one or their babys?
