I have 1 female black molly and was was wondering if I add a male yellow lyre tail molly would they breed? I'm really looking to find a tank mate for her but would a male be a better idea than a female? I'm not looking to raise fry but if we were to have a breeding pair it would be ok.

Unles you bought her really young and she's never been around a male before, she is most likely already pregnant. Plus, with livebearers, you always want 2-3 females for each male, as they will harass a lone female too much

Yeah she already dropped fry. I don't want a male to harass her but don't want her to be bored or lonely. So another female would probably be best I'm thinking.
