Welcome to AA! First off it is a common behavior for the male to look like he is "sniffing" her, males will do that and then he will mate with her by sticking his gonopodium into her vent. mating only takes a split second all it takes is a slight touch and she's pregnant. Give them time they will reproduce. As stated before you should get more females. Otherwise your male can stress out the female to the point of death
