Moved: What do you do with the fry that grow up?
Moved to breeding forum:
As a future plan I'd like to get some cool discus and let them spawn. I think it would be cool to have a bunch of baby fish -- I'm enchanted with the pics of the parent discus and all the fry hovering around 'em. Then I got to thinking... what would I do with the fry once they grew up? What do you do with your grown up fry? How many survive to adulthood? I assume you can't keep ALL of them all the time. Thanks in advance coolchinchilla ![]()

Most [acronym:dc84e7611f="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:dc84e7611f] (non petsmart/petco places) will take fish for store credit. You just have to grow them out until they are at a sellable size.
My [acronym:dc84e7611f="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:dc84e7611f] will accept fish regardless of sellability. They have 5 or 6 20g tanks reserved for ppl who's fish got too big, or who are moving and can't take their fish along. But then again, i have a really awesome [acronym:dc84e7611f="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:dc84e7611f]. I would ask around before i had 20 juvi discus to deal with

Just as mumrah said, the [acronym:0046c161c3="Local Fish Store"]lfs[/acronym:0046c161c3] will most likely take them off your hands for you, but don't count on store credit. Not all of them do that. I actually only know of 1 and they don't give you all that much.
