My Bristlenose are now hatching :)
Hi,
thought I would update the progress on my next brood a bristlenose catfish. Usually I just let em go for it in the tank. However just yesterday I sighted a ball of eggs lying outside the bristlenose log. Atached was a snail with a few other tetras having a look. Not knowing what to do I found a tiny plastic fish container and filled it with just enough water to float on top of the tank. (leaving enough water out of it so preasure would push it up against the lids to stabilize it. I am using an air stone to mimic the fin flappy Dad usually does to to keep the water moving over the eggs. Last night they began to hatch and are now feeding of the egg sacks still atached to their bodies. After the sacks have gone I can begin feeding them. I will keep you posted as to what I feed them and their continued progress from here. As I keep saying my camera sucks so please bear with the very ordinary pics. |
