My pregnant swordtail had 5 babies. For some odd reason she stopped having the babies. She still has a black spot and has all the signs that shes still giving birth. Why is she not giving birth?

Hello chris...

If you have a young female, that may be all the fry you get. However, if you want to make sure she's drop all of them, and if your tank is about due for a water change, then make the replacement water a little warmer than the the rest of the tank. It's been my experience with "Livebearers" that a rush of warm, pure, treated tap water will get the chemistry just perfect for the fish and if your female is holding because the water isn't quite right, then the warm water change will help.
