I have a pair of silver angelfish that laid eggs about a month a month ago for the first time but to no avail. So I'm going to set them up their own 20 gallon at my office. I'm going to make it a planted tank, I'm still debating on what substrate to use. What's the best for a breeding tank that is still compatible with plants?

For a planted tank, I would go with fluval stratum or Eco-complete, although I've never used the latter. ADA also offer similar substrate.

Else, sand is also a good idea, but lack nutrients for plants.
