Oscar Pair?

I just vented my 5 1/2 Oscar and I see oO and oo. So I have a pair? The male been being aggressive to the female just 2 day ago and still is. He's always biting her tail and side. Any advice for the future?

I've bred Astronotus ocellatus for many, many years now and have never been able to visually see any differences in the vents until the breeding tube drops. Your fish are not even close to sexual maturity yet as this starts around 18 months and most fish by then are easily 9-10 inches.

Ok thanks just a couple more month ill check again. What should I do now with the aggressive Oscar? I'm seeing loose scale on the female (Guess) and right they separate. When can I put them together again when the male won't bite no more

They're in a temporary tank 29 gallon since their 70 gallon has a crack inside.

Well there is your problem, you don't have a large enough tank for one much less two.

True , well I just put then back together and no aggressive from any of them "Yet" they just be together cuddling all the time or tail slapping each other.
