Pregnant Angel Fish?

Any easy way to tell if an Angel is pregnant? I have a black angel that's puffy where'd I'd expect it to be if it were pregnant. However, I didn't see any pairing off with another angel. The fish is 1-2 years old. It's a black angel so telling a difference in body color isn't really possible.

You are talking about a fish that spawns. She might be gravid, meaning, she is carrying eggs. I have two female tetras that get gravid and there is no male in the tank.

Hi Tom,
Angel fish are as you already know are egg layers. The female angels will get rounder bellies when they have produced there eggs. And she will wait for another angel before she lays them.

Well I suspect that she will lay the eggs soon then. Not sure if the larger Angel is male or not. The other members of the community will likely help themselves to the eggs anyway.
