She was. Didn't get to the fry before she did :( hopefully she will have more now that we know what to look for.

What is the fish called that is in the background
 
K thanks and do you know how to tell the difference between a male or female.
 
From what i have found the males have a single stick looking projection and the females have small rounded fins. :) We are pretty new to all this though lol

It's very obvious in sexually mature platy or molly. It's quite large. The females are "chubbier" looking, more round. The males have that characteristic "male peacock" look to them. Puffed out, territorial. Typically always chasing something...my smallest black molly male LOVES my blue dwarf gourami male. Literally. They're boyfriends. It's cute. :)
