How close is my guppie to giving birth?

Your guppy looks like she will have her fry in less than a week. Do you have a place for the fry to keep them safe other fish who will try to eat them? To help the fry survival rate give her a raft of bushy plants such as hornwort and they will hang out in it where the other fish can't get to them. The fry also eat microorganisms off of the plant so it is a food source, too!

I'm the proud dad of 2 babies but only caught one. I have had guppies before and these are the smallest fry ever. The momma gup still looks ready to pop

Yeah, I had a guppy give birth and only caught one of the two fry I saw. Poor other fry!

That's great news! 8 babies will grow up to be 8 guppies and have babies of their own so be prepared

Haha! Yes, I think a lot of guppy females will take their time to drop the fry. Congrats!
