I have seen two tetras stay close to each other, and on occasions I catch the pair wiggling in place next to each other...

Have you looked up courtship videos of pristella tetras on youtube yet? Mine body bump each other when they are angry. And they extend their fins and swim parallel to each other sometimes too. I'm not sure what the sex of mine are, but I think they are female because their bodies have a lot of yellow mass inside them, and not where the gut is. Yours may be thinking of spawning?

My 2 girls extend their fins and kinda vibrate them. Thenthey sort of punch each other
I don't know if that's a courtship thing, since they are both female, but i assume it's similar. Try looking at other tetras too, they may be similar.
