This is the first time I had egg layers actually lay eggs in my tank. I have no idea what to do next. I have a community 130 gallon tank. She laid the eggs on a rock, and I can't identify which of my sevrum males she spawned with. I do have a heated hospital 10 gal I could convert to a grow tank for now....I would appreciate some help thanks guys!

Give the eggs 24 hours and see if they turn tan. If they stay white they aren't fertilized

What else is in the tank?

Besides 3 other sevrums, 4 corys, a few rose barbs, 5 full size angles, 1 juvinile and 1 adult geophagus and a jack dempsy. I suppose my biggest question is if the mother has to stay with the eggs/fry?

Ph is 7.7 and nitrates at 20

Ok, came in this morning and found the mother eating the eggs. It seems that this is common, so out of desperation I removed the rock into my hospital tank. It's has been less than 24 hours.

The other occupants of the tank would have made short work of eggs or fry.:(
Many parents eat eggs/fry instead of allowing other fish too.
I think they lack reasoning skills !?:nono:
Good move getting them out.
The eggs look fertile IMO!(y)
If you have MB a little may help to keep the eggs from fungus.
An airstone close to rock also IMO.
Did you use water from 130 for the hosp tank?

Good call on the air stone i have an Xtra one. All I have for fungus is melafix and seachem paraguard. I did use my aquarium water to fill the hospital tank. I have a heater in the tank as well. I guess we will see what happens in 3 days

Look in your medicine cabinet for hydrogen peroxide!(H2O2).
If you find I'll link you safe dosing!!
It also works for the fungus and eggs.
I would not use any of what you mentioned as they are not appropriate IMO.

Awesome thanks for the tip. About how much peroxide for 10 gal?

I didn't see your location info but my lfs keeps the methylene blue behind the counter. You can also order it from many places. It's done wonders for my hatch rate in my corys. I was losing a ton of eggs due to fungus. Aquabid is another source but I see mostly the powder for sale there.

I don't know how much hydrogen peroxide sorry.
