Hi all, I am new to owning a fish tank. I've had 2 Rosy Barbs in my tank for a few months now and they seem to have had babies. But all the fry? are VERY different sizes. We have some which I've dubbed juveniles and are about 1.5cm and the rest vary in size to much much smaller. Is this normal! We've not purposely set the tank up for breeding and I just don't understand why all the fry are of such varying sizes. The smallest is still completely translucent and miniscule and the biggest is now 1.5cm with the obvious rosy barb colouring... Is this normal??

Egg laying fish fry will all grow at different rates so what you are seeing is normal. The fact that you have fry in a tank with fish that are known to eat their eggs after spawning could also mean that you are seeing fry from different spawns, which could also be the case.
So congrats on the fry. (y) :)
