Sevrum breeding after medicating.....coincidence?

I have been trying to keep a handle on a fungal bloom in my tank. It seems that every time I remove my carbon to medicate, my female starts laying eggs. Is this a coincidence? I'm a novice at breeding so any tips would be appreciated.

Possibly. It depends on the type of carbon. Some forms tend to stress the fish more than others.
