Sexing Laetacara curviceps?

I want to start a tank for a pair of these guys and I have trouble sexing them. I know males are larger with longer extended dorsal like bolivian rams but I also heard that the female will have two black dots on the dorsal fin? What is this about. How do I not mistake this type of curviceps with other in its family?
