Ok ive been reading several articles on stripping eggs from a Yellow Labs mouth (yes we all seem to have our labs get preg at the same time)..

but is this really necessary? i mean every forum I read they say that it should be done... but what are you guys' experience on it ?

Personally I think it's too much of a risk in injuring the female. It puts the fish under stress as it is. It's just a quick release method breeders do so they don't have to wait for the females to spit the babies out on their own. Whatever their reasons are for it are their reasons, but I don't see a need for it. I gather the holding females and place them together in a tank of their own with plenty of rock and just wait. Once they spit the fry out, the females go back into their original tank. JMO 8)
