Surprise brood

Well, I had about given up on my two yellow lab cichlids. I assumed that I'd gotten two males or two females, because they hadn't done anything that looked like mating rituals in the 3 months since I'd bought them, but it's quite obvious that the one I thought was male now has a mouthful of little ones. Not only does she have the noticeable bulge that she's had for a while now, but today I was watching her closely and when she's trying to breathe around her mouthful, her mouth opens a bit and you can clearly see at least one set of little eyes looking out.

Hopefully she'll spit soon, because her mouth can't stretch much further, and she hasn't eaten in quite a while! Can't wait to see how many are in there.
