Have 1 male and 2 females. The females have established an order but get along ok until recently. The male always tries to mate with the top female and never the lesser so it seems. The alpha female always tries to avoid the male when he is trying to mate with her.
I've now noticed that the beta female has a large stomach. I've had or still may have a parasite in my tank but I'm doing everything to put a stop to it spreading. This female sure looks pregnant though.
The alpha female Won't leave her alone now. Doesn't attack her but kind if harasses her and stays really close. It's stressing the beta out. She's even clamping fins at times but this may be the parasite causing it.
How do the females act when they are pregnant? Is it normal for pregnant females to clamp up? Does the harassing fit in with pregnancy?
I know pregnancy when talking about fish may not be the correct term so apologies.
