I had gotten my female guppy last February and she seemed gravid but never dropped. Her belly is full of eggs but has never past the stage where they have developed into fry. I've had many many fry from my other females but never her. And she just seems to be getting larger. She's not constipated and swims happily but for some reason is holding these eggs. I would have thought that her body would have absorbed them by now but no such luck. What in the world can be going in with her?

Weird :s the only reason I can think of is that she could be infertile of she can only be able to do one stage of the reproductive cycle :/

my mom bought her when she was about four months, she had her for six months before I got her and I've had her for four months. That's a year and two months kinda makes me wonder what the guppy lifespan is, I've heard its only about a year. Maybe she is too old :(
