Ummm suprise!!

Well here I thought I had 2 male angels. Well tonight it appears they decided to lay eggs! I am absolutely dumbfounded! What do I do now? Wasn't expecting this, have never done this before. Help. LOL.

Probably best to remove them gently to an isolation tank or chamber. Don't let them hit air though and carefull not to smash them. Unfortunately, parenting skills have been mostly eliminated in the tank bread species.

What kind of conditions are required? I have a 5 gal I can remove them to but what temps, lighting etc? I really really wasn't expecting this.

Can you swap out the intake with a new one and move it and the eggs?

Remarkable male angels you have there-have they showed any signs of tending the eggs?

They are very very protective of the eggs, and yes I do have another intake I can switch. They are not letting anything get near those eggs right now. I am still in shock, I really really believed they were both male. So much for my certainty.

OK the eggs are in a 5 gal tank for now, stole my media from another tank for the filter. Temp is 80 F. Sponge filter and small airstone to simulate fanning. LOL parents took after me but I was fast! Eggs never saw air for more than one second. We'll see what happens.
