Very new to the Cichlid world .... please help! - Aquarium Advice

My girlfriend has one of those perfect tanks and her convict cichlids are always mating. I always wanted a tank and she offered me some frys when they where big enough. Now I have three in a 25 gallon tank. The little one and only one came from her tank. It seems that the other convicts ate the matting pairs frys. She tried to help them out but with working she couldn't babysit them all the time so she only had one that survived. Too make a long story short. She was able to get me a pair from the University and they happen to be a matting pair as well. They have settled in nicely and I believe they have some eggs inside this log as the one doesn't come out that often if ever that I see and the other is guarding the log and her. Very funny to watch as the little Cichlid is chased around if he/she comes to close.

So my question is how long does it take for the eggs to become frys??

I moved this to breeding.

The eggs should hatch in 2-3 days. Good luck and congrats!!!
