well surprise surprise, my mothers day fish from walmart were pregnant. 2 mollies, 2 platies.
now for the weird part... platy number 2, mrs blue mickey is a total brat, eating babies etc.. moved her out of the tank. platy number 1 mrs orange mickey is PROTECTING her fry! WTF!! she is swimming closely with some of them, following them around ( not hunting, trust me) and sheilding them from the molly moms in the tank.
ANd the Molly moms are so complacent they could care less about the fry! platy mom is actually sheilding mrs blue, dalmatian and black molly fry as well as her own.. That is the ODDEST thing i have seen thus far in my fish keeping.
But points to momma fish, she's all about those babies.. just thought i would share
