When to watch?!

So I have a 40 gallon tank with

2 female platys
1 male platy
1 female swordtail
1 male swordtail
1 male swordtail/ platy hybrid
2 female swordtail/platy hybrids
2 corys (1 female, 1 male)
1 algae eater
A few mystery snails
And some 3-4 week platy fry

Okay so obviously my tank is a breeding frenzy. In the past six months I've had several batches of fry but only three have survived. My tank is busy and I am okay with letting nature take its course, but I'd really like to see the birth process. When is the best time to catch the show haha. Any suggestions?

usually you can see fish spawn after a water change, as they say on the internet but this doesn't happen right away.
another time that usually happened to me when i bred is in the morning after the lights are turned on.
