I have 5 Apple snails in a 10g. They've been in there for like 3 months!
Ph = 7.2
Tank mates = 9 week old guppy fry and some pond snails.
Tank stuff = 10 - 15% weekly water change. Today was wc day. The temp is about 79 degrees. It has a gravel substrate and two live plants. I feed them Hikari algae wafers before I turn the lights out and I do that every night. Here's a pic of the tank

Any help is appreciated! Also I was starting to wonder will they even breed in a 10g?

I got another snail about an hour ago and I'm pretty sure it was breeding with one of my other snails. Also I've heard they will breed for several hours but mine have already gone their separate ways.

Test your water, post results.

What do you want me to test? I can only do PH and ammonia. I know the ammonia is 0 ppm and the PH is 7.2.

Also I can post pictures of the snails if you want me to.

I would like better photos. Do you have Mystery Snails or Apple Snails? I don't know much about Mystery Snails but have experience with apples.

Changes in the food availability and temp can trigger breeding. Also, you should feed your snails blanched peas and green beans.

Apple Snail

Here is what I have, not Mystery Snails for sure. The eggs are hot pink.

I've read and read and read and I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right I just started thinking that I had either all females or all males. I do have apple snails not mystery snails. Here's pictures of all of them

This is my larger ivory (it's the one that I think is my male) eating an algae wafer.

I think I had some sort of luckish thing because before yesterday I had only ever gotten female Apple snails ? the large black and the large ivory are mating right now. So now I have 4 female snails and 1 male. Is this a good ratio? It's what I had wanted when I first started about 4 or 5 months ago.

How long after mating will the female lay eggs? I've read anywhere from 2 days to 2 months is this correct?

Wow this male is very active! He's breeding with my smallest black female right now.ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1426527490.158153.jpg I bet soon I'm gonna wish that they would stop breeding ?
