getting more green squares that say you hear surf in the shell?

what are these representing? how do you get more of them? what are they called? anyone know about these?

If someone gives you helpful advice, you can give them "Reputation Points". Click on the little white thingy at the bottom of their username, next to the grey or green dot (depending whether they're on-line). That's how green squares are accumulated.

the quotes are different and two people have the same color and amount of blocks. you guys above...are vets.....should be paid for as much time you put in here.

The break point for number/color of dots and the phrase you get when you hover over them are independtly controlled, so they don't necessarily line up.
