How does the multi-quote function work?

I tried to multi quote a message and I clicked the multi quote button on the two posts I wanted to quote but nothing happened? Thanks for your help, it is appreciated

you have to click the multi-quote button on each post you want to quote, then click quote on one of them and it'll automatically add them to the reply box. is that what you were doing?
