From June 1st until June 30th we will be having a membership referral drive, every member is encouraged to participate, Admin's and Advisors are not eligable for this contest. By simply sharing the word about our wonderful site you can win a 4 stage RO/DI filter worth over $200.
This is how it works. When your telling the good news about Aquarium Advice make sure you give them the username that you use on this site. Ask them to fill in your name when they register as the person whom refered them to the site. When new members go to register they will see a new field that is labled "Nickname of member that refered you to this site:". This is the field that your nickname is to be placed into so you can get credit for the referal. This field is read only so after they register only one of the two site admins (fishfreek and reefrunner69) will be able to edit it. Should you happen to be a new member and you forgot the name of the person whom refered you or you need to change it due to an error please contact one of the two admins. Changes to this field will not be allowed for any reason other than error or misspelling of the nickname. I can not stress the importance of making sure they know to enter your nickname on the registation page. This is the only way we have of knowing who got refered by whom.
The person that refers the most new members by June 30th will win the RO/DI unit from AquaFX. Here is the catch...the new members must post at least 5 times prior to July 5th 12:00am to count towards the contest. No new members will be accepted towards the contest after 12:00am July 1st. This contest is open to all members reguardless of your location. Members who live outside the contental US will be asked to pay for shipping. Those members within the US will get free shipping.
Please do not try to cheat the system. All new members must have an active e-mail account and the IP address of all members is recorded everytime you make a post. Those found cheating will have their referal count reset to zero regardless of how many legit referrals you might have. Cheaters also risk having their account placed suspension for a period of 1 week.
