maybe add some pebbles to add texture to the sand? just my preference.

Looks Great. In fact you motivated me to break out an old 2.5g to set up as a planted Betta tank. Are you running any filtration?

Hehe thanks everyone. Yes the tank is running a 100lph hang on filter with bio media, sponge and activated carbon. Works very well so far
